My Work
Hi, I'm Madison
I’m a learning experience designer transitioning from teaching to corporate instructional design. I build performance-focused microlearning and eLearning using evidence-based practices, adult learning principles, and tools like Articulate Rise 360 to create engaging, applicable learning experiences.

My Work
Transitioning to Team Leader
Project Type: Scenario-based learning course
Audience: New and first-time team leaders
Purpose: Support the transition from individual contributor to people manager by building confidence in coaching conversations and performance-focused feedback
Tools Used: Articulate Rise 360

My Role:
-
Analyzed the performance challenges commonly faced by new team leaders
-
Designed a short, self-paced learning experience focused on real workplace decisions
-
Wrote and structured scenario-based interactions to encourage reflection and application
-
Created a printable job aid to support on-the-job coaching conversations

Project Type: Scenario-based microlearning course
Audience: General employees
Purpose: Equip learners to identify common phishing red flags and confidently choose safe responses to suspicious messages
Tools Used: Articulate 360

My Role:
-
Conducted learner and performance analysis to define the on-the-job risk and behaviors targeted
-
Designed realistic scenario interactions that allow learners to practice decisions under pressure
-
Wrote branching feedback that models safe response strategies
-
Created a downloadable job aid to support transfer to real email environments

Instructional Context: This project addresses a real business risk: users clicking phishing emails and exposing systems or data. Rather than presenting definitions or long explanations, the experience uses scenario-based decisions and immediate feedback to help learners recognize red flags, pause before action, and choose safe next steps. A companion “Before You Click” checklist reinforces application on the job.

Jobsite PPE
Project Type: Awareness-level safety training video
Audience: Entry-level employees and new hires
Purpose: Introduce required personal protective equipment (PPE) and reinforce basic jobsite safety expectations
Tools Used: Vyond

My Role:
-
Planned and scripted instructional content
-
Designed visual structure and pacing to support comprehension
-
Created the video to clearly communicate safety requirements in a concise, accessible format

Instructional Context:
This video was designed as a short onboarding and reinforcement resource to support safety awareness. It focuses on clarity, visual cues, and straightforward messaging rather than in-depth procedural instruction.

I've also had the opportunity to create learning resources for K–12 students and teachers, which has really helped me grow as a designer. Working with younger learners challenged me to break down complex ideas into simple, engaging pieces and to think more creatively about how to keep different types of learners interested.
